Walking

Brooke has been walking now for a couple days and I have been asked to put up video, so here it is.

Our Beauitful Baby Girl,

I can't even begin to express how you have changed our lives forever. You are the most wonderdful little gift that God has ever given us. One year ago today you came into this world weighing in 8lbs, 10oz and measured in at 20 inches long.I will never forget the first time I held you in my arms. It was a moment that I had waited for for such a long time. Your daddy was lucky enough to change you first diaper, even though he needed a few pointers. He did get better each time. We fell more in love with you ever second that you we here. We knew that God had given us a true blessing.

Before we knew it time was flying by. You started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks and it was such a blessing. You moved into your own room and crib and we all sleept better after that. You learned to roll over, play with your toys, crawl and now walk.Now here you are turning 1 and you are the sweetest, loving, most beautiful, baby girl I know. God created you with his hands and we sit in amazment as we watch you grow into the world around you. People tell me all the time how precious and beauitful you are and I can't wait to watch you grow into an amazing young woman.

Walking

Yesterday I was on the phone with my brother and Brooke was playing in the living room with me. She loves to pull up on the all of the furniture. Well she was all across the room at the tv stand. She pulled up turned around looked at me and then walked all the way across the room to me. Then turn around and walked back like it was no big deal. She did this on and off for about 20 mins. It was so cool to see my little one really walking. I hope to get a video up soon.

6 days Bottle Free!

I can't believe how fast everything changes. Brooke has been bottle free now since Saturday. She is doing so well. She now has her sippy cup, bath, then dress for bed, story and goes right down for bed. She is just getting so big. Everyday she is taking more and more steps. I am so proud of her. Only 8 days untill she turns 1!

More Easter

The longest 36 hrs

This won't be to long, since I have not slept for 36 hrs. At 1:00 am Tuesday morning, my SIL, Carolyn's water broke. So as I was sleeping, my brother, David comes out in the loving room to wake my dad and I up, saying "Get up, Carolyn's water broke." I could not believe it. So we rush around and ran out the door to the hospital. She got checked in, and we sat and waited.

We waited through breakfast, and No Baby. ..

Then came lunch, No Baby...

As my dad and I sat after lunch he got a call that my step mom's Aunt had passed away at 12:01 pm. We knew that she was not doing well, but I couldn't believe that this was happening all in the same day. Although we really felt bad there was really nothing that we could do being in another state.

So then came dinner, Still NO Baby...

At this point it was looking as if my dad and I would not be there to see the birth. We had a flight out at 7:45pm. So as one last ditch effort, my dad call the airline and they worked with us to change our flight to Wednesday morning at 5:15am.

Everyone was really starting to get tired. After 20 hrs of waiting the time had come for Carolyn to start pushing. It took almost an hour. Although we were not able to see what was going on, we were able to be in the room behind a curtain, so we could hear everything. Carolyn did a great job of pushing and David did a great job of being a support coach for her. At 10:51 pm (eastern time) on April 7 2009, I became an AUNT, William Gavin Finney was born 8lbs and 20.5inches long. He came out with a great set of lungs. As they started to clean him up the nurse pulled back the curtain a little so that we could see Gavin as they finished up with Carolyn. He was so cute. We all took turns holding him and of course I took lots of Pictures. So we had a couple of hrs with David, Carolyn and Gavin before we had to head to the airport at 3:00am.

The time came when we had to say goodbye to everyone and head to the airport. David took us to the airport since he needed to run home and shower and get more clothes to stay with Carolyn. On the way to the airport my Dad gets a call from my cousin, informing us that my Grandma Nettie (my dads step mom) had passed just hrs before away at 12:30am. This would be today April 8th. I think at this point we were all in shock from the events of the day. We were super happy about Gavin's arrival, but didn't really know what to think about the unexpected news of my Grandma. Right now I am still not really sure what I think or what I feel. Please be in prayer for my family during this hard time, but praise God for the beautiful baby boy he brought into our family.

And Last but not least, I wanted to include a picture of my Grandma Nettie. This was taken the day Brooke was born. I feel so lucky that she was there and able to share that special day with me. I also feel luck that Brooke had the chance to meet her.

Not quite "The Big Day"

So this morning we all got up and went to the hospital ready for little Gavin's arrival, but he had other plans. The c-section was cancelled due to him making yet another flip and is ready to come out naturally. So we are not quite sure when he will make his apperance, but when the time comes I will let ya'll know.

The night before

So here I am in Va, with my Dad visiting my Brother (David) and SIL (Carolyn) and tomorrow is the big day. I can't wait. I will become an Aunt for the first time. I will be sure to post an update with pictures as soon as I am back from the hospital!

Heading for Virginia

I am leaving tomorrow to be with my Brother and SIL as they bring there first child into the world. I am so excited. I have not seen them since their wedding (May 2007). It really has been to long. I have never gone this long with out seeing my Big Brother and I can't wait. They are having a little boy and he will be named William Gavin Finney. William after my brother's middle name. He will be called Gavin. I can't wait to meet the little guy and I am sure that they feel the same way. Well I will post pictures as soon as I take them.
